Systems Engineering Internship

Join Blue Origin as a Systems Engineering Intern and contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. You will work directly with engineering teams on projects supporting our business units.

What You Will Do

Your internship projects may involve aspects of applied systems engineering including:

  • System definition and design
  • Systems test and integration
  • Requirements verification
  • System safety analysis
  • Operations and system verification
  • Work on fluid, mechanical, propulsion and electrical systems

During your internship, you can expect to gain hands-on, real-world experience, receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers, and participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship
  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation (obtained sophomore standing) at time of application
  • Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework
  • Strong written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for space

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with requirements and/or verification
  • Familiarity with the systems V-model
  • Relevant internship, co-op and academic project experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Hands-on project experience
  • Strong interest in Blue Origin's mission

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly compensation: $32.00

Blue Origin offers housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from work locations.
