Fluid Systems & Propulsion Engineering Internship

As a Fluid Systems Intern, you will work directly with Blue Origin engineering teams on projects involving design, analysis, and test of fluid components, propulsion systems, and mechanical systems.

What You'll Do

  • Gain hands-on, real-world experience in fluid and mechanical engineering
  • Participate in design, analysis, and testing of propulsion and fluid system components
  • Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced engineers and managers
  • Learn about other parts of the organization through team events

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship
  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation (sophomore standing or higher) at time of application
  • Available to work full time for 15 weeks without concurrent coursework enrollment
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong interest in Blue Origin's mission

Desired Experience

  • MATLAB or Simulink
  • Programming languages including Python, C/C++
  • MCNP or similar radiological analysis tools
  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership
  • Hands-on project experience
  • Co-curricular engagement

Compensation and Logistics

Hourly rate: $32.00

Blue Origin offers housing and relocation support. You are responsible for daily transportation to and from work locations.

Internship duration: 15 weeks full-time during summer 2027.
