Technician - Integration Engineering Verified today
About this role
This position is part of Blue Origin's Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) team. You will implement automation needs for customers, working with hydraulic components and systems at pressures up to 15,000 psi. You must have strong background in hydraulic systems, with additional experience in pneumatic and electronic systems. You'll interpret engineering schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings, and understand fluid power principles and system-level integration.
What you will do
- Precision assemble valves, check valves, servo valves, actuators, and other hydraulic/pneumatic components
- Perform pressure testing in excess of 6,000 psi, up to 15,000 psi with charged vessels
- Execute advanced hydraulic testing and tuning with strong understanding of fluid power theory
- Set hydraulic/pneumatic null and test with cryogen (LN2, GN2)
- Measure test pressures, strokes, temperatures, flows, positions, and loads
- Prepare test setups for engineers and operate pressurized hydraulic/pneumatic flow test benches and portable test stations
- Read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, engineering drawings, work orders, and technical orders
- Inspect components for damage and latent flaws; perform continuity checks
- Use flowmeters, transducers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, and other test devices
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Assemble and test components to oxygen-clean requirements
- Use standard tooling: calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, safety-wire and lock-wire tooling, seal installation tools
- Work with production lines to identify bottlenecks and implement automation
- Perform stainless steel tube bending, flaring, and swaging
- Execute Acceptance Test Procedures and Factory/Customer Acceptance Testing
- Install Helicoils, seals, and O-rings
- Support training and assist others in component repair, assembly, and testing
- Maintain clean, safe lab practices and identify unsafe practices
- Work with DAQ systems, National Instruments, LabVIEW, Dewesoft, PLCs, and automation systems

- U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee
Desired experience
- 8+ years in aircraft hydraulic/pneumatic or components labs
- FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience
- Advanced hydraulic diagnostics or fluid power certification coursework (CFPS/CFPT)
- Basic CAD use
- Understanding of clean room environments and precision cleaning
- Understanding of oxygen-level cleaning
- Familiarity with aerospace testing and quality processes (AS9100, FOD Control, Lean, 5S)
