About the Role
This position is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. You will assist engineers and technicians with test setup, design, assembly, testing, and implementation of development articles being integrated to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify, assemble, and complete test setups for various test articles
- Rebuild valves, regulators, and components
- Perform component level testing and troubleshooting
- Bend, flare, and swage stainless steel tubing
- Work with pressures up to 10,000 psi
- Read schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings
- Use shop tools, equipment, and machinery
- Execute and support Acceptance Test Procedures, Factory Acceptance Testing, and Customer Acceptance Testing
- Operate and troubleshoot sensors, pressure transducers, load cells, LVDTs, thermocouples, power supplies, flowmeters, pressure gauges, servos, servo drivers, and electrical circuits
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in related field
- Development lab and production lab experience
- Hands-on experience developing and executing work instructions
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and soldering
- Familiarity with helium, nitrogen, and aircraft fluids
- Ability to read schematics and understand fittings and fasteners
- Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace testing and quality processes
- Strong written and computer skills
- Dedicated commitment and attention to detail
- U.S. citizenship, permanent resident alien status, or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information
Desired Qualifications
- Basic use of CAD
- Understanding of clean room environments
- Understanding of precision cleaning and oxygen level cleaning
- Familiarity with FOD Control, Lean, and 5S processes
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for WA applicants: $29.91 - $41.87 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
