About the Role
As a Technician in Blue Origin Operations, you will perform manufacturing, assembling and testing of valves and control components for spaceflight systems. You will be part of the production valve manufacturing team supporting the company's Integrated Supply Chain.
What You Will Do
- Integrate, test, functionally verify and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components
- Perform intermediate and depot level component maintenance, inspection and repair
- Assist engineers in reviewing and developing design concepts, tooling and test hardware, providing feedback for improvements
- Follow, review and improve work instructions for complex mechanical systems and installations
- Safely work with chemical and high-pressure hazardous systems
- Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test and maintenance of valve-related systems
- Support overtime required for integration tasks or test campaigns
- Ensure tasks are performed on schedule, safely and professionally
- Adapt rapidly to changing roles in a high-paced environment
- Drive innovation and accountability in process improvement and operational efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related industrial or defense fields
- Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems and drive to resolve technical issues
- Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs and use lifting equipment for heavier hardware
- Physically able to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to use software systems, databases and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must support one of the following production schedules: M-TH (5am-3:30pm) or Fri-Sun (5am-5:30pm)
- Strong work ethic, ability to follow direction and meet expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cryogenic systems, operation, safety and hardware
- Prior experience fabricating, maintaining, testing, operating or inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluids systems
- Experience with CAD systems for review and interpretation of 3D models
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $29.91 - $41.87 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
