Test Engineer I - Early Career & New Graduate Rotation (2027 Starts) Verified today
Role Overview
Join Blue Origin's test engineering team to support the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. This early career position offers two full-time employment pathways:
- Direct Hire: Match with an engineering team based on your skills and current business needs.
- New Graduate Rotation Program: One-year development program with three four-month rotations across New Glenn, Blue Engines, Lunar Permanence, Blue National Security, Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering, and Operations. Upon completion, collaborate with your Program Manager to determine your permanent team placement.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and operate test systems for fluid, propulsion, mechanical and electronic systems
- Integrate safety, manufacturing, operations, materials, processes, instrumentation and systems engineering into test projects
- Analyze test data to support requirements verification
- Direct integration of hardware into test facilities
- Conduct test planning, risk assessments, evaluation and mitigation strategies
- Execute test setup, execution, post-test data review and performance analysis
- Develop test support software and equipment to improve test frequency and quality
- Identify, scope and resolve test-related problems
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or similar discipline
- Degree earned within the last year, able to start Fall 2027
- Experience with testing environments and executing test procedures
- Internship, co-op or hands-on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to earn trust, maintain professional relationships and strengthen a culture of inclusion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
- Flexible and adaptable mindset
- Self-driven with ability to seek requirements with minimal direction
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or similar discipline
- Experience with LabVIEW, AutoCAD P&ID, Winplot, Windchill or Creo
- Experience with hazard and risk analysis

Compensation
Base pay ranges by location. Colorado applicants: $74,537 to $104,351. Washington applicants: $81,313 to $113,838. Other site ranges may differ.

Employment Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident with current Green Card, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Blue's Standard Background Check required for all positions. Additional requirements may apply depending on role and location (DBIDS background check for military installation access, CDL/hazmat certifications for certain driver roles, Merchant Mariner Credential for others).
