About the role

This position is part of the Avionics and Control Products (ACP) organization within Blue Origin's Engine Business Unit. You will work on the ACP Test Equipment and Manufacturing Automation team, designing and delivering avionics ground and test systems that support engineering development and production. The test systems provide an environment to integrate electronics and software for system development, verification, and validation.

What you will do

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical systems using engineering drawings
  • Build, test and rework cable and harness assemblies
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on test systems following engineering work instructions
  • Review, execute and help improve various test procedures and processes
  • Provide input on streamlining test procedures and incorporate process improvement techniques into manufacturing testing processes
  • Uphold 5S principles to keep the test lab clean and organized
  • Ensure common lab equipment remains within calibration and verify customers follow general lab best practices in an ESD safe environment

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in electronic test systems troubleshooting, repair, and operation
  • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and schematics
  • Strong ability to read and understand technical manuals and detailed work instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with electronic test instruments, systems and software
  • Proficient level knowledge of 5S, ESD, FOD and Tool Control best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windchill
  • High attention to detail

Preferred qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in the aerospace industry, aerospace maintenance or aerospace engineering
  • 3+ years experience supporting manufacturing test systems for space grade avionics
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Jira Products (ITS and Confluence) and Windchill

Compensation

Base pay range for WA applicants: $36.60 to $51.23 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
