Thermal Analyst Sr. - ACE Verified today
This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth.
You will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide system and component level thermal analysis to advance spacecraft design.
What you will do
- Develop system-level thermal analysis models of spacecraft at varying levels of maturity and detail with minimal supervision
- Perform system-level transient thermal analysis for ground, launch, Earth orbit, cis-lunar space, and lunar orbit using Thermal Desktop
- Capture system inputs, perform trade studies, and generate temperature and heat transfer predictions
- Anchor thermal predictions to test data
- Work with card-level designers, system thermal analysts, and systems engineers on component-level analysis to ensure adequate temperature control of in-house and vendor components
- Communicate and collaborate clearly with multiple teams as both customer and provider of fluid and thermal data
- Document work for future reference and refinement
- Advocate for methods that improve component and analysis performance and reliability
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 8 years relevant thermal engineering and analysis experience with Thermal Desktop
- Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals
- Demonstrated thermal analysis skills
- Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, including model validation and test correlation
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 10 years of relevant aerospace experience
- Experience solving a variety of thermal problems demonstrating breadth in analysis application
Compensation
Base pay ranges by location:
- CA: $145,188 to $203,263.20
- CO: $133,500 to $186,898.95
- WA: $145,188 to $203,263.20
- Other site ranges may differ
