Transfer Stage Requirements and Verification Engineer - Lunar Permanence Verified today
About the role
This position is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers. You will support creation of vehicle-level requirements and verification, and support subsystem decomposition. You will work directly with Blue Origin Lunar Permanence elements, National Team Partners, and NASA on a lunar vehicle system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence beyond Earth.
What you'll do
- Manage requirements at system and system-of-systems level, working with NASA and partners on new or modified requirements
- Support system and lower-level requirements management including change control, impact assessments, audits, and team coordination
- Define system-level interfaces and dependencies across element boundaries with multiple partners
- Manage definition of interface requirements between external systems
- Develop vehicle-level verification plan including verification event definitions and integration of subsystem-level events
- Develop system-level verification closure products including Validation Closure Notices for Blue Origin and NASA
- Track metrics against plans to develop and close out requirements and verification products
- Provide leadership and guidance to element teams
- Apply technical expertise and engineering judgment to ensure efficient and effective product design, manufacture, procurement, test, qualification, and delivery
Required qualifications
- Experience in requirements and functional analysis to specify and verify complex systems
- Experience defining and managing interfaces, interface requirements, and interface agreements
- Detailed knowledge of systems engineering process and technical budgets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
- Must be U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as refugee or granted asylum
Preferred qualifications
- 4-8 years relevant experience
- Experience with full spacecraft design life cycle
- Experience on verification program for complex spaceflight or aviation system
- Experience with requirements and V&V tracking tools, preferably JAMA
- Experience on NASA development program(s)
- Experience with NASA design and certification standards for human spaceflight
- Experience with NASA flight readiness certification process for new system
- Experience on large complex programs with multiple partners
Compensation
Base pay range: CO $110,938.00-$155,312.85; WA $121,023.00-$169,432.20. Other site ranges may differ.
