Vehicle CAD Manager - Lunar Permanence Verified today
Role
You will lead a team of drafters and design engineers in the creation, maintenance, and release of part, assembly, and install CAD models for the Transfer Stage Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers in generating, integrating, and releasing CAD models
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team
- Manage your team's professional development including coaching, one-on-one conversations, performance reviews, and promotion management
- Develop tools and processes to improve team capability and performance
- Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to key operating metrics including technical, schedule, and risk
- Monitor technical progress, requirements, schedule, deliverables and risks; review recommendations for change with program management
- Communicate progress to leadership team
- Utilize engineering and business judgment to ensure efficient and effective product design, manufacture, procurement, testing, qualification, and delivery
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical subject area
- 10 or more years directly related experience
- Experience with CAD (Creo), PLM (Windchill), and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- In depth understanding of CAD modeling and engineering principles
- Track record of delivering complex products on schedule and in budget
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace vehicle design
- Experience with critical path scheduling
- Experience interviewing and hiring for technical roles
Compensation
Base pay range varies by location: CA $150,743.00 to $211,039.50; CO $138,181.00 to $193,453.05; WA $150,743.00 to $211,039.50. Other site ranges may differ.
Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
