CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and airborne platforms. We are seeking an RF Engineer II to join our team in a hands-on role supporting RF product development from concept through qualification.

What you will do

  • Design and develop RF circuits, transceivers, receivers, transmitters, amplifiers, filters, and microwave components.
  • Perform RF analyses, circuit simulations, link budget calculations, impedance matching, and frequency planning.
  • Review engineering requirements, RF specifications, and technical documentation supporting design readiness.
  • Conduct RF verification, qualification, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Analyze RF measurements, simulation data, and laboratory results to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Support root cause investigations, engineering changes, and RF performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with RF, antenna, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams.
  • Develop engineering reports, simulation documentation, and RF measurement reports.
  • Participate in design reviews, product integration, and qualification activities.
  • Review RF engineering methods and development processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Apply RF engineering methodologies, industry standards, and customer requirements throughout product development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives enhancing RF performance, efficiency, reliability, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in RF electronics design, analysis, test, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with professional simulation tools such as CST and ADS, and EDA tools such as Altium.
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred experience

  • MATLAB or other programming languages.
  • Aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification.
  • Worst-case circuit analysis, failure mode and criticality analyses, and reliability analysis.
  • Antenna design.
  • EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
