Senior Communication Systems Engineer Verified today
CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior Communication Systems Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO.
What you will do
- Develop space architecture concepts, sub-system design, and payload design
- Define requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces
- Lead requirements development, analysis, decomposition, and high-level software and hardware system architecture design
- Develop concept of operations (CONOPS) and perform risk assessment
- Coordinate activities across multidiscipline engineering teams and raise issues at the program level
- Support verification planning and test execution
- Participate in development of system engineering processes for requirements management, flow down, and traceability
- Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies
- Identify and resolve issues that impede engineering progress
- Foster a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience with emphasis on space-based communication payloads
- Background and practical experience in antenna and RF systems
- Experience with at least one scripting and one programming language
- Experience working with product and component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality
- Proficiency with a requirements management tool such as DOORS or Jama
- Ability to define work direction, track milestones, and demonstrate progress on large open-ended projects
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
- Ability to work well with multifunctional teams and under pressure
