Senior Electronics Test Engineer Verified today
CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and space platforms. We are seeking a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to join our Westminster, CO facility.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop test architectures and systems, including equipment selection, fixtures, data logging, and interfaces.
- Design and execute tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
- Develop test requirements and test plans for new products.
- Design tests for compliance with standards such as NASA GEVS (GSFC-STD-7000).
- Execute board-level verification tests including signal integrity, digital link characterization, power supply performance, and temperature performance.
- Design systems for testing complex integrated hardware and software, such as phased array products combining radios, computers, and antennas.
- Advise design engineering on design-for-testability (DFT).
- Evaluate and document test results and present findings to stakeholders.
- Develop test software in Python or similar languages for data storage, retrieval, and test automation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house tools and documentation.
- Train technicians and operators on test procedures.
- Support lab buildout and management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of industry or university research experience in design, analysis, and implementation of electronic products and/or test systems.
- Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
- Hands-on experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
- Programming or scripting experience in Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Version control experience (Git or SVN).
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, VLANs, and network security.
- Experience developing graphical user interfaces for production environments.
- Extensive knowledge of digital and analog interfaces including GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and analog-to-digital conversion.
- Experience programming test equipment using SCPI.
