About the role
You will join CesiumAstro as a Senior RF Test Engineer, responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing engineering test plans and procedures for satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace communication systems. Your day-to-day work includes collaborating with design and test engineering teams to develop test requirements, mapping requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures, implementing test plans, and presenting results to stakeholders. You will also manage lab operations and guide equipment purchase decisions.
As a senior-level engineer, you will architect RF test systems, draw insights from test results, and participate in design-for-test planning from early product development stages. You will present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and contribute to proposal-writing efforts.
What you need
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience with a BS, or 4 years with a master's degree, in design, analysis, and implementation of RF test systems
- High proficiency with RF measurements (Linearity, NSD, EVM, etc.)
- Test architecture design and development including scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers
- Proficiency with statistics and metrology as related to RF test design
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with phased array testing
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.)
- Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware (amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas) and its effects on test design
