About the Role

You will own the full lifecycle of board-level and system-level electronics hardware design and implementation for advanced RF communication systems. This is a digital-focused role requiring deep expertise in electrical design and test, with ability to help drive overall program direction. You will lead rigorous design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.

The Skylark Product Line

Skylark focuses on rapid design, build, and test of cutting-edge active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications. Current programs span high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, part selection, and detailed design
  • Lead small teams of hardware engineers to develop multi-module assemblies, including architecture, requirements, and interconnects
  • Deliver hardware designs through production and deployment
  • Conduct debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews
  • Run signal integrity and power integrity simulations
  • Perform extensive lab work for hardware bring-up and verification

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from accredited university
  • Minimum 12 years relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test
  • Expertise in digital and mixed-signal electronics: signal integrity, FPGA implementation, ADCs/DACs, telemetry subsystems
  • Proven experience owning design phase of complex board-level electronics
  • Deep expertise in PCB layout, including high-density interconnect (HDI) stackup design and high-speed routing
  • Hands-on experience with signal integrity and/or power integrity simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, ADS SIPro, or Mentor Hyperlynx
  • Depth in point-of-load power converter design for digital boards
  • Proven success in debugging and design reviews
  • Strong working knowledge of software and mechanical disciplines that guide hardware and system design
  • Extensive lab experience for hardware bring-up and verification
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and mitigation
  • Understanding of military and/or DO standards
  • Experience with design qualification and production lifecycle
  • Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RF design and test equipment
  • Crafting proposals for new business opportunities
