Senior Test Engineer Verified today

CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and space platforms. We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of engineering test plans and procedures for board-level electronics including power, digital, and RF systems.

Your responsibilities

• Develop test architectures and systems, including equipment selection, test fixtures, data logging, and interfaces
• Design and execute tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages
• Develop test requirements and compliance testing to standards such as NASA GEVS (GSFC-STD-7000)
• Plan and execute board-level verification tests: high-speed signal integrity, digital link characterization, power supply performance, and temperature performance
• Design test systems for complex integrated hardware and software, such as phased array products combining radios, computers, and antennas
• Develop modular, reusable test and automation software in Python for a variety of test applications
• Advise design engineering on design-for-testability (DFT)
• Evaluate and document test results, presenting findings to stakeholders and customers
• Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house tools and test software
• Train technicians and operators to perform tests
• Contribute to lab buildout and management

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited university
• Minimum 5 years of industry or university research experience in design, analysis, and implementation of electronic products and/or test systems
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers
• Programming or scripting experience in Python, LabVIEW, SQL, MATLAB, or Embedded C
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred experience

• Version control experience (Git or SVN)
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, VLANs, and network security
• Experience developing graphical user interfaces for production environments
• Knowledge of digital and analog interfaces: GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, and analog-to-digital conversion
• Experience programming test equipment using SCPI
