Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer Verified today
CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO.
What you'll do
You will design the critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects that integrate hardware into complete systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of wire harness designs from initial specifications through integration and test
- Schematic development, cable routing, and connector selection
- Harness assembly drawings and technical documentation
- Collaboration with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and harness assembly technicians
- Design reviews, providing technical expertise to enhance performance and reliability
- Analysis and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years of relevant industry or university research experience
- Proficiency in harness design tools such as RapidHarness
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- Knowledge of industry standards including IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001
- Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads
- Detail-oriented approach with high accuracy in design documentation and technical specifications
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Aerospace industry experience
Preferred experience
- Experience designing for space environments
- Hands-on experience assembling wire harnesses
