The Role
You will work with the Test Operations Team to build and maintain test stands, rocket launch sites, and fluid system upgrades. This role is located at our rocket production facility in Briggs, TX, north of Cedar Park.
What You Will Do
- Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade test stand equipment and instrumentation
- Participate in new site and test stand builds or implementation of new systems
- Provide operability and constructability feedback to GSE engineers during design
- Collaborate with test engineers to develop test procedures and document stand activity
- Build and maintain tools, storage, and hardware to support test activities
- Maintain clean and orderly test stand locations for flight-ready hardware
- Partner with engineering teams to streamline and optimize testing processes
- Operate test stand tasks with guidance from test engineering
- Operate and maintain high pressure systems, cryogenic systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, and pneumatic components
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical systems, high pressure fluid/pneumatic systems, or heavy equipment
- 3+ years experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities in a high-paced environment
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a test stand environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering, technical, or mechanical field or A&P license
- Experience in airframe structural repair
- Experience in aviation electronics and avionics
- Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification or training
- Experience with testing process and optimization
- Experience with hydraulic plumbing repair and fabrication
- Experience in ground support equipment in aerospace industry
- Experience in space exploration, aviation, military, or other high-reliability environments
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, JIRA, and photo generation/compilation
- Experience with crane and lift operations
- Knowledge of fittings such as NPT, MS, A/N, and Swagelok
- Ability to read and understand operating system schematics and drawings
- Communication skills for relaying data verbally and in writing
