About the role

Firefly Integration Technicians are responsible for the efficient and successful assembly and test of the Alpha Launch Vehicle. You will follow complex assembly procedures, execute integration processes, and communicate closely with engineers to understand design intentions and resolve manufacturability issues.

What you will do

  • Follow complex assembly procedures and work instructions
  • Execute integration processes
  • Stage, set up, assemble, test and install flight hardware including cable harnessing installation
  • Utilize necessary tooling and fixturing
  • Follow complex planning instructions for assembly and integration of all vehicle subsystems
  • Identify discrepancies between design and manufacture, and resolve them
  • Support engineering in defining manufacturability, producibility and assembly using industry standard parts
  • Manage payload and interface requirements
  • Plan customer integration activities and con-ops
  • Perform fit checks and load testing
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and teammates
  • Work comfortably in ESD environments

What you need

Required experience

  • 3-5 years of technical experience in complex assemblies and production, particularly aviation
  • Proven ability reading harness and wiring diagrams, routing and testing harnessing on-vehicle
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing and performing visual inspections
  • Familiarity with at least one of: IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001 or ANSI/ESD S20.20
  • Proficiency with DMM, basic avionics hand tools, basic mechanical hand tools and precision measurement equipment
  • Comfort working within an evolving process with flexibility regarding workflow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel up to 25%

Desired experience

  • A&P License
  • Military experience in fixed or rotor wing maintenance
  • Two or more years in military avionics, electrician MOS (Army 15F, 15Y; Navy AT, ET; Marine 63/64 series; Airforce 2A6X6; Coast Guard AET)
  • Rocket engines, turbomachinery or complex component assembly experience
  • Civilian or military aircraft engine experience
  • Experience with oscilloscopes and Hi-pot testers

Compensation and requirements

Salary: $36.49 - $46.28 per hour

You must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State to comply with ITAR export regulations.
