Hubble Network is building a global Bluetooth network for machine-to-machine connectivity. We are the first modem-less, gateway-less direct-to-satellite network using off-the-shelf Bluetooth Low Energy chips, targeting logistics, AgTech, and maritime applications.
The Role
As Lead Manufacturing Engineer for satellite payloads, you will drive assembly, integration, and testing to ensure our technology reaches orbit with absolute reliability. This is a hands-on position where you'll lead technicians in our SODO facility in Seattle while delivering technical execution on complex satellite systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate subcomponents and final assemblies of structural, mechanical, fluid, and avionics systems to engineering specifications.
- Configure production work areas with tooling and equipment for efficient workflow during high-rate manufacturing.
- Operate precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers) to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Perform operational tests, troubleshooting, and fault isolation to verify system integrity and reliability.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Support the transition from development to production and perform preventative maintenance.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S principles.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years aerospace manufacturing, integration, or related experience (3+ Level II Technician, 5+ Level III Technician, or Lead Technician preferred).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Hands-on experience assembling and integrating structural, mechanical, fluid, and avionics systems.
- Proficiency with precision calibration tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers).
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Experience with adhesives, sealants, and fasteners.
- Basic computer proficiency including Google Office applications (highly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in related fields.
- Direct experience with cryogenic fluid systems, avionics integration, and aerospace launch vehicle or spacecraft assembly.
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes for large aerospace components.
- Strong technical and leadership skills with attention to detail on complex integration tasks.
- Effective communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for process optimization.
- Experience with payloads, fairings, capsules, and industrial power vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, boom lift).
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
ITAR Requirement
All applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
Compensation
$90,000-$138,000 USD annually.
