Nozzle Design Engineer (m/w/d) Verified today

Main Responsibilities

• Develop, design and validate thrust vector control (TVC) systems
• Support integration and testing of actuators including mechanical, electrical and thermal interfaces
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of TVC components operating in high-temperature environments
• Design and qualify insulation and material systems for thermal protection and mechanical stability
• Support system-level testing including test bench setup, data acquisition and performance evaluation
• Work closely with avionics teams to ensure proper overall system performance
• Document design, analysis and test results according to internal quality processes

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree (or PhD) in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge of structural and thermal finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh or Simcenter 3D
• Practical experience with hardware testing including instrumentation, calibration and data evaluation
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. NX, SolidWorks or CATIA)
• Understanding of material behaviour under thermal and mechanical loads, particularly metals, composites and insulation materials
• Experience with aerospace mechanical systems exposed to vibration, temperature or dynamic loads

Desirable Experience

• Experience developing propulsion systems, particularly with thrust vector control or comparable systems
• Experience with dynamic simulations (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Adams) for motion and load prediction
• Experience with environmental qualification procedures (vibration, thermal vacuum, durability)
• Knowledge of sensor and feedback systems for actuator control and performance monitoring
• Experience with actuators (electromechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic)
