About the role
As a Satellite Operations Specialist, you will be an integral part of ensuring ICEYE delivers products and data to customers. You will work closely with other operators on the operations console throughout your shift hours, ensuring smooth operation of the satellite constellation and providing crucial support for any unexpected contingencies on the fleet or ground systems.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Maintain continuous, high-quality monitoring and control of the satellite constellation during all shifts
- Ensure safe operations, early detection of anomalies, and proper escalation or resolution
- Enhance Satellite Operations by developing and refining procedures, tools, and workflow
- Support fleet maintenance activities and satellite in-orbit testing
- Contribute to mission readiness through simulations and Launch and Early Orbit Operations
- Deliver clear shift handovers, incident reporting, and documentation
- Contribute to seamless 24/7 operations and strengthen team-wide situational awareness and best practices
What you must have
- Relevant university degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Space Studies, Applied Physics, or similar, or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Attention to detail with excellent ability to focus
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to react fast
- Strong English language skills (both written and spoken)
- Flexibility in scheduled working hours: ability to work morning, evening, and night shifts on a 24/7 basis
- Interest in space industry and satellite operations

- Space background
- Knowledge of satellite systems
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics
- Familiarity with Linux systems
- Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence)
