Working Student – Piping System, Propulsion (m/f/d) Verified today
The Role
The Integrated Engine Design team shapes the architecture of the Sea Level and Vacuum engines, integrating every subsystem into one compact, reliable package. You will contribute to the development and modeling of piping systems for our latest engines, including secondary lines and sensor capillaries. You will work on flight hardware and see your designs move from CAD to manufacturing and testing.
What You Will Do
- Model secondary lines in 3D based on fluid schematics
- Prepare drawings and take designs through the hardware approval process
- Track manufacturing orders and external procurement of piping components
- Run clearance and accessibility checks within the engine
- Support implementation of Engineering Change Requests for active designs
- Help the Integrated Engine Design team with general CAD tasks
What We Need
- Enrolled in a bachelor's program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related field, in at least your third semester
- Hands-on 3D modelling experience from internships, university projects or student teams
- Good knowledge of CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX
- Pragmatic, focused, and able to meet design release dates
- Good understanding of fluid and mechanical systems, with ability to turn a concept into a design
- Clear communication and enjoyment of collaborating across teams
- Fluent English
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with piping or tubing
- Knowledge about manufacturing principles and GD&T
- Familiarity with rocket engine fluid schematics
- Experience with engine instrumentation
Benefits
- Subsidised lunch
- Flexible mobility budget (Deutschlandticket or fuel allowance)
- Sports club membership (EGYM Wellpass)
- Free snacks and drinks
- Physical and mental wellbeing support via OpenUp
