About Logos Space

Logos Space builds Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite systems for commercial and government connectivity. The Product and Data Link Security team ensures network success by providing security and authentication in space communications, supporting Layer 2, 2.5, and 3 services with isolated flows and end-to-end encryption.

The Role

As Platform Trust & Security Lead, you will lead the security architecture for satellite onboard systems (bus and payload compute). You will design secure boot chains, attestation mechanisms, and enforce trust boundaries across all onboard components, working closely with hardware, firmware, and system teams to ensure end-to-end platform integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security strategy, architecture, and roadmap for satellite and firmware security
  • Lead design and implementation of robust secure boot and chain of trust architecture for all satellite onboard systems
  • Drive design, implementation, and management of platform-specific security controls, including Hardware Root of Trust (TPM, secure elements, eFuse) requirements
  • Implement and manage firmware signing and attestation processes
  • Develop access control mechanisms for onboard software and low-level interfaces
  • Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and attack vectors across satellite firmware and embedded systems
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans specific to onboard system compromise; lead security incident response activities
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware (C/C++, Rust), and systems teams to embed security best practices throughout platform development
  • Grow the Logos security team by recruiting talent and providing technical guidance and mentorship

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in network security engineering, with demonstrable experience designing and implementing security solutions for complex network environments
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and frameworks (e.g. Zero Trust, defense-in-depth)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and low-level debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment

Must-Have Skills

  • Secure boot and chain of trust design
  • Embedded systems (C/C++, Rust preferred)
  • Hardware Root of Trust (TPM, secure elements, eFuse)
  • Firmware signing and attestation
  • Low-level debugging and threat modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with space-based communication systems and their unique security challenges
  • Knowledge of satellite networking concepts and protocols
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
  • Ability and willingness to attain Top Secret Clearance
