Test Engineer - Satellite Hardware

Lynk is a space communications venture developing a constellation of small satellites for telecommunications services. We need someone who can support building and testing the key technologies for our space and ground payloads.
The Role
As a Hardware Test Engineer, you will support testing of payload hardware in the lab environment. You'll work hands-on with electronics and RF systems, using soldering equipment, breadboards, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
What You'll Do
- Integrate space and lab hardware electronics and design test beds, fixtures, and procedures for operational verification of technologies.
- Design, develop, specify, and maintain hardware and software for Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) to verify spacecraft payloads before, during, and after functional and environmental testing.
- Perform bench-level work with electronics and bit-level analysis to debug and troubleshoot issues during testing.
- Work alongside engineers and technicians to inform the design and optimization of testing procedures and policies for production and R&D campaigns.
- Automate testing and data collection tools to ensure reliable and repeatable testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with single-board computers, microcontrollers, FPGAs, GPUs, CPUs, SoCs, software-defined radios, and/or antennas.
- Ability to generate schematics and read and understand IC datasheets.
- Working knowledge of electronic components and test equipment.
- Experience using Linux-based systems.
- Experience with standard RF lab equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum/vector network analyzer, multimeter, etc.
- Programming proficiency in one or more languages such as C++, C, Python, or MATLAB.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- EMI testing (RE 102, RS 103).
- Vibration testing experience with GEVs.
- Familiarity with ethernet, serial, and/or CAN communication protocols.
- Recent participation in space payload hardware and software development projects, preferably communications systems.
