About the Role

You will be responsible for the design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of the launch pad and support facilities for Terran R.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Design launch pad propellant and gas infrastructure, including fluid system design, modeling, pipe stress analysis, fabrication drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, component lists, and detailed work instructions
  • Supervise construction activation, commissioning, and initial operations of these facilities
  • Solve technically challenging problems across multiple disciplines under varying programmatic pressures

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years combined engineering experience
  • Experience in thermal and fluid analyses
  • General experience with fluid components such as valves, regulators, and instrumentation

Preferred:

  • Experience safely operating complex fluid systems including high pressure gas, cryogenic fluids, flammable liquids and gases, and hydraulics
  • General knowledge of launch vehicle ground support equipment and operations, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, valves, instrumentation, or related experience
  • Fundamental understanding of ANSYS and other piping analysis software such as Caesar or Bentley Autopipe
  • Experience working with DoD, USAF, and NASA personnel
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and effective communication skills

Clearance and Location

You must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Compensation

Hiring range: $104,000 to $143,000 USD. Relativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, generous PTO and sick leave policy, parental leave, and annual learning and development stipend.
