Senior Avionics Source Inspector, Harness, First Shift Verified today
About the Role
You will perform in-process and final inspections of cable and harness assemblies at supplier facilities and internal manufacturing locations. Your work ensures quality in avionics systems destined for the Terran R vehicle.
- Travel approximately 80% of the time to supplier sites, both locally and domestically, to perform source inspections, conduct audits, and support supplier quality and compliance activities
- Perform in-process and final inspection at onsite supplier facilities and internal cable and harness assembly manufacturing
- Conduct electrical continuity and resistance tests using DMM and portable measuring devices
- Verify that parts match engineering blueprints, wire schematics, and bill of materials
- Review purchase orders, certificates of conformance, test reports, material traceability, and shipping documentation for accuracy
- Maintain detailed inspection records and document nonconformances
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality assurance and inspection processes
About You
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cable and harness inspector or assembler in an electronics manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality function
- Knowledge of cable and harness assembly and inspection following NASA-STD-8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620 standards
- Experienced in conducting continuity tests using DMM and other portable measuring devices
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and internal specifications
- Familiarity with avionics systems, components, and installations, with ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications
- A high level of attention to detail is crucial for conducting thorough inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations
- Ability to travel up to 50 - 80%

- Well-versed in process development and first-time quality efforts
- Highly organized and able to provide structure and direction to the previously undefined
- Experience leading projects or teams, even if not in a formal leadership role, demonstrating the ability to take initiative and drive quality improvement efforts
- Certified or previously certified in IPC-A-620 or IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001
Work Schedule
First shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT. Standard 50-hour workweek, including 10 guaranteed overtime hours each week.
Compensation
