About the Team

The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R at our Long Beach headquarters. This centralized approach gives engineers and technicians exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. Test stands handle millions of pounds of force. Team members lead multiple projects in parallel, gaining broad technical experience without requiring an aerospace background.

About the Role

You will design, build, and integrate data systems and control hardware at our Long Beach facilities. For standard low voltage control and instrumentation, you will design robust systems that engineers without electrical backgrounds can operate. For high voltage or unique applications, you will design complete solutions and train future operators.

You will be hands-on with hardware, working side-by-side with technicians to build and debug your projects. You will have frequent opportunities to branch into operations and test planning roles.

Your projects will span a variety of construction methods, sizes, and applications, including:

  • Motion Control Systems
  • AC / DC Power Distribution Systems
  • Wiring Harnesses
  • Portable Data Systems
  • PCBs (signal routing and power management focus)
  • Motor and Pump Control Cabinets

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing, activating, and troubleshooting electrical systems, preferably in a highly cross-functional environment
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamental knowledge
  • Experience designing and working with high voltage DC electronics
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks in complex systems
  • No previous aerospace experience is required

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with data and control systems (SCADA, PLCs, NI, Beckhoff, etc.)
  • Scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for analysis or automation tools
  • Schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium
  • Communications methods such as SPI, Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, and Modbus

Compensation

Hiring range: $124,000 to $186,000 USD. Actual compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and job-related factors. Relativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, generous PTO and sick leave, parental leave, and an annual learning and development stipend.
