About the Role

You will lead electrical project design and development for launch and processing facility projects, applying engineering judgment from early requirements through installation and commissioning.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Design and provide technical direction for electrical systems across voltage levels from 22.5 kV to 120 V, including power generation, distribution, protection, controls, and sequencing systems.
  • Own electrical system requirements, design analyses, equipment selection, and technical reviews while identifying and resolving complex integration, reliability, and operational challenges.
  • Develop and review construction drawings, requests for proposals, bid packages, technical specifications, and bid evaluations.
  • Provide technical oversight of subcontractors throughout project execution.
  • Lead electrical installation, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities in collaboration with construction, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Partner with management and engineering stakeholders to establish technical approaches and improve design standards for future Relativity Space facilities.

About You

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field and 6 or more years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience independently developing and delivering electrical system designs using engineering first principles, including requirements development, analysis, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
  • Experience with aerospace, utility, or industrial electrical systems involving power generation, distribution, redundancy, protection, controls, or other high-power applications.
  • Experience owning electrical projects through multiple phases of the project lifecycle, such as design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or operations.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs, resolving complex engineering issues, and providing technical guidance to engineers, contractors, or cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across engineering, operations, construction, and management.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the orbital launch industry or hands-on experience with aviation or rocket ground power systems.
  • Experience designing or commissioning medium- to high-power electrical systems for utility, industrial, aerospace, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience applying NFPA, military, NASA, or similar regulatory and technical requirements to electrical system design.
  • Familiarity with crane, elevator, or similar equipment involving integrated control and power systems.
