About the role

ReOrbit is seeking a Senior Avionics System Engineer to lead avionics systems design for our satellite platforms. You will design high-level avionics architecture using flight-heritage hardware from trusted suppliers, and support other projects across the company. This role bridges internal teams and external partners on a consortium project that pushes the boundaries of space data transfer technology.

What you will do

  • Define the overall avionics architecture of satellite platforms and maintain models and diagrams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Design grounding and bonding architecture for spacecraft
  • Design and maintain electrical circuit diagrams and subsystem interfaces
  • Participate in interface definitions between different subsystems
  • Support supply chain definition for batteries, power distribution units and related components
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations on avionics subsystems
  • Lead functional testing and qualification of avionics components

What we need

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in avionics systems engineering or similar roles in the GEO space industry
  • Knowledge and professional experience of the full lifecycle of avionics subsystems
  • Expertise in high-level system design of avionics subsystems
  • Ability to analyse data, derive conclusions, manage design documentation and review design changes
  • Experience working closely with external vendors and consortium partners
  • Collaborative team approach
  • Fluent written and spoken English
