About the role

ReOrbit is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our next-generation satellite communication platforms.

As Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the evolution of our Small Satcom platform, working across the full development lifecycle: from mission analysis and subsystem architecture through design, development and AIT. You will work closely with systems, payload, propulsion, AIT and supplier teams to define and deliver robust power solutions for demanding space missions.

What you will do

  • Analyse mission requirements and define power needs across all mission phases, including payload and propulsion operational modes.
  • Define the Power Subsystem architecture based on mission analysis and system-level requirements.
  • Develop and maintain requirements and specifications for the Power Subsystem, PCDU, Battery Unit, Solar Arrays and SADA.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal engineering teams to ensure effective subsystem development and integration.
  • Coordinate technical interactions with Battery, Solar Array, PCDU and SADA providers.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation based on system architecture, analysis and unit-level specifications.
  • Lead and support Power Subsystem AIT activities in line with the defined architecture.
  • Define and support the development and acceptance of EGSE for Power Subsystem AIT.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, design decisions and change activities throughout the development lifecycle.

What we need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in power systems engineering.
  • Significant professional experience in the GEO space industry, preferably working on large satellite platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the full lifecycle of satellite power systems, from requirements and architecture through design, development, verification and AIT.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to analyse technical data, derive conclusions and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Experience reviewing, managing and approving technical documentation, requirements and engineering changes.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with systems, payload, propulsion, AIT and other engineering teams.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, vendors and consortium partners.
  • Clear and effective technical communication and documentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary engineering team.
