About ReOrbit

ReOrbit builds software-first satellites that network and communicate to improve mission efficiency. Our in-house software engineers and system architects integrate hardware and create flexible, secure platforms. Headquartered in Helsinki, with subsidiaries in Bristol and Bariloche.

The Role

You will lead satellite design and development while mentoring team members. With extensive hands-on experience in satellite ecosystems, you will make immediate impact on our projects and help shape how we develop systems for space communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, integration, and validation of complex space and ground systems, ensuring every component meets project objectives
  • Define and refine technical and non-technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders; develop CONOPS, OPSCON, and use cases
  • Perform feasibility studies
  • Support business development with bids, providing technical information and documentation

Requirements

  • At least 10 years' experience as a space systems engineer, preferably on medium to large GEO satellites
  • Full lifecycle awareness through all project phases from requirements to AIT and launch
  • Solid understanding of NASA and ECSS Standards
  • Experience developing and executing verification and validation (V&V) test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Ability to plan and execute integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) test activities
  • Ability to review, understand, gather and refine stakeholder needs across operations, user, client, and ground segment communities
  • Familiarity with developing and decomposing technical requirements, conducting feasibility analyses, and supporting conceptual design activities
  • Working knowledge of trade-off analyses, feasibility studies, and conceptual design reviews
  • Experience with spacecraft and ground system models (Flight Dynamics, AOCS, propulsion, thermal, payload, TT&C, etc.)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to interface with software engineers, technical managers, product assurance and configuration/documentation management (CADM)
  • Proven ability to perform integration, verification, and validation testing in complex systems
  • Experience evaluating simulation infrastructure, spacecraft, and ground system models

Desired

  • Experience on geo-stationary communication satellite projects
  • Holistic thinking: ability to approach problems with comprehensive view, understanding how all subsystems and components interact to achieve overall objectives, and considering technical, operational, environmental, and human factors in decision-making

What We Offer

  • Challenging, rewarding environment where your ideas are heard
  • Ambitious, supportive network motivated to change the space industry
  • Lunch vouchers, occupational health care, and additional health insurance
  • Team activities and events
  • Support for relocation and integration into Finnish society
