The Role
We are seeking an RF Design Engineer to join our international, agile team. The RF system spans telemetry and flight termination across the launch vehicle, ground systems, down-range ground systems, and satellite networks. You will be a high-performing generalist, working independently and autonomously as part of a small team.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and troubleshoot RF systems based on off-the-shelf components
- Plan and implement qualification and acceptance testing of RF systems
- Test RF systems in the field and via analysis and simulation
- Integrate RF components onto the vehicle
- Perform RF-related literature reviews and research
- Become familiar with RF telemetry and flight termination system requirements outlined by RCC, IRIG, and ECSS standards
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation to high standards of detail and accuracy
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for analysis and test
- Collaborate with other teams across the company
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in telecommunications, RF, microwave engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or equivalent qualification
- Strong foundation in digital RF communications theory: modulation, forward error correction, software defined radios, and DSP
- Strong foundation in electromagnetic principles, antenna theory and design, transmission line theory, link margin analysis, electronics and embedded systems, and RF simulation
- Hands-on experience with programming languages including Python, C, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink
- Knowledge of common test and troubleshooting equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analysers, and signal generators
- Fluent oral and written English skills; all day-to-day activities are performed in English
Desirable Experience
- Hands-on experience with wireless communications and telemetry systems
