About Rocket Factory Augsburg
Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) builds small launch vehicles to deploy satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond. Our goal is to create low-cost, flexible and reliable access to space.
Your Tasks
- Develop, update and maintain requirements and architecture of expendable and reusable launch vehicles and ground systems
- Coordinate activities between technical departments and interfaces: vehicle, propulsion, software, avionics, ground systems
- Perform trade-offs on mass, cost, functionality, complexity and reliability for vehicle and ground systems
- Contribute to creation and maintenance of design, test and operational documentation
- Interpret test results and derive quantitative reliability of systems
- Aid in formulation of tools and strategies to enhance operational efficiency of day-to-day engineering tasks
- Manage and maintain verification and test cases for launch vehicle and ground systems
Your Qualifications
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, physics or related discipline
- 2 to 4 years work experience in aerospace industry
- Knowledge of and passion for launch vehicle systems and operations
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, control systems, fluid and structure mechanics, and instrumentation
- Fluent English oral and written (all day-to-day activities in English)
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Highly organized and proactive approach to work
Beneficial: Hands-on experience in student team projects or competitive events. Knowledge of Python for creating tools and automation scripts. German language. Experience with requirements engineering and risk analysis (FMECA/FTA).
