The Role

As a Federal Government Operations Intern based at Rocket Lab's Washington, D.C. site, you will learn about Rocket Lab's internal priorities and understand how the Government Operations team implements strategy to achieve these priorities with state and local governments.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with your mentor and department colleagues to apply your knowledge and grow both technically and professionally
  • Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges alongside fast-paced professionals
  • Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning
  • Network with other interns and employees through social and professional events

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in Business Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field, with at least one semester remaining after the internship
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • 3+ months of corporate function experience in federal government, elections, policy, or corporate Government Operations
  • Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027

Nice to Have

  • GPA of 3.5 or above
  • 6+ months of corporate function experience in Government Operations
  • Knowledge of legislative process
  • Knowledge of space policy

Compensation

  • Pay: $22.00 USD per hour (Washington, DC)
  • You may be eligible for a relocation cost stipend

Important Information

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or U.S. Department of Commerce.
