The Role

As Propulsion Systems Analyst, you will own the creation and maintenance of engine transient and steady state models for the Archimedes engine family. You are the technical expert POC for all engine transients, responsible for startup and shutdown performance across the entire vehicle lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Develop transient startup and shutdown simulations for Archimedes engines
  • Develop and maintain startup and shutdown valve sequences and test campaigns for verification
  • Support test site and vehicle transient test campaigns with data review, model grounding, and valve sequence changes
  • Serve as the technical expert engine POC for all engine transients
  • Work closely with engine leads to communicate subcomponent and vehicle system needs
  • Create and maintain data processing tools

Propulsion Systems Analyst II (2+ years experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years experience with fluids system analysis of cryogenic liquid propulsion rocket engines
  • Demonstrated expertise using or building lumped parameter fluid analysis tools
  • Knowledge of fundamentals in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid system design

Senior Propulsion Systems Analyst I (5+ years experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years experience with fluids system analysis of cryogenic liquid propulsion rocket engines
  • Demonstrated expertise using or building lumped parameter fluid analysis tools
  • Knowledge of fundamentals in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid system design

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in a fluid mechanics-heavy field
  • 4+ years experience designing and operating an engine system or components for staged combustion rocket engines
  • Experience with ROCet Engine Transient Simulation Software (ROCETS)
  • Experience with methane/LOX fluid systems

Compensation

Base salary: $126,000 to $172,800 USD. Total compensation (base and equity): $136,075 to $193,075 USD. Stock grants are part of your compensation package. Requirements

Working conditions: This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
