The Role
Based in Long Beach, CA, you will serve as primary avionics design engineer for the Global Launch Services Mission Formulation Team. You'll work with Business Development, Engineering, and Production to formulate and implement missions on HASTE and Electron launch vehicles, and develop future concepts for Electron and Neutron.
What You'll Do
- Lead avionics design for Business Development proposals and mission concepts, including Electron and Neutron operational concepts
- Perform electrical and RF design and analysis for custom payload accommodations, vehicle integration, and launch site requirements
- Design and document electrical schematics, harnesses, and kits with detailed pinouts for all payload and deployer interfaces
- Manage external stakeholder and customer relationships for mission-specific requirements engineering
- Document proposed avionics designs and participate in customer design reviews
- Develop tools and processes to automate common proposal analysis tasks
- Participate in program execution of Electron and Neutron system commissioning and calibration
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other technical discipline
- 5+ years of working experience in engineering
- Experience developing full design solutions for significant avionics or electrical systems in orbital launch vehicle or missile systems
- Active DoD US Government Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
Nice to Have
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Rapid conceptual design iteration experience
- Hands-on development and testing experience with FPGA, ARM processors, or similar
- Ability to take a product from concept through production with minimal supervision
- Master's or PhD in electrical engineering or aerospace engineering
- Experience with requirements assessments and interface control document generation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and plan workflow to meet objectives
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $124,000 to $155,000 USD. Total compensation including equity: $144,275 to $190,675 USD.

Requirements and Working Conditions
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, with occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
