About the Role
You will assist in the design, development, and evaluation of propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in design and development of propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles
- Help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity
- Conduct tests and simulations to validate the performance of propulsion systems and components
- Document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for propulsion systems and components
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in propulsion engineering and apply new knowledge to ongoing projects
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and progress discussions
- Communicate technical concepts and information clearly, both verbally and in writing
About You
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- Typically entry-level, 0-2 years of experience
- Basic understanding of propulsion engineering
- Basic application and use of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts
- Ability to help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from senior engineers
- Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information
Preferred qualifications:
- Internship or co-op experience in propulsion engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
- Basic proficiency in using engineering design software and tools such as CAD, FEA, or CFD
- Basic understanding of propulsion system components and their functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compensation
Pay Range: $70,213.00 - $96,542.50
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
