About the Role
You will design, develop, and evaluate propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. Working under general supervision, you will apply technical principles and standards to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity, following established procedures while contributing to designs tied to program milestones.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles
- Develop solutions to technical problems and contribute to project planning
- Conduct tests and simulations to validate propulsion system performance
- Document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for propulsion systems and components
- Collaborate with other mechanical teams and external partners to ensure alignment and progress
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in propulsion engineering and apply new knowledge to ongoing projects
About You
You have a solid foundation in propulsion engineering and are looking to grow your career as a mid-level engineer. You work well in teams and independently with general guidance from senior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- Typically 2+ years of related experience
- Strong understanding of Propulsion Engineering
- Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Ability to work in a team and independently with general guidance from senior engineers
- Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
- Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools such as CAD, FEA, or CFD
- Strong understanding of propulsion system components and their functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $82,461.00 to $113,403.75
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
