About the Role
You will design, develop, and evaluate propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. This is a mid-level position ideal for engineers with a few years of propulsion experience looking to advance their career.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design and develop propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles
- Develop solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Conduct tests and simulations to validate propulsion system performance
- Document design processes, test results, and modifications
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for propulsion systems and components
- Collaborate with mechanical teams and external partners
- Stay current with advancements in propulsion engineering
- Participate in team meetings and project planning
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians
- Communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
You will work under general supervision, following established procedures while contributing to designs associated with program milestones.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of related propulsion or mechanical engineering experience
- Strong understanding of propulsion engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Ability to work in a team and independently with general guidance from senior engineers
- Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools such as CAD, FEA, or CFD
- Strong understanding of propulsion system components and their functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compensation
Pay range: $82,461 to $113,403.75 per year. Actual base compensation determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
