About the Role
The RF Engineer I will be responsible for designing and developing RF systems and components for space-based applications, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and RF amplifiers. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a basic understanding of electrical circuits and components, as well as electrical design tools and equipment. You will work under the guidance and mentorship of more experienced engineers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in RF engineering.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the design and development of RF systems and components for space-based applications
- Support the testing and validation of RF systems, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and RF amplifiers
- Utilize electrical design tools and equipment to perform basic design tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and integration
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports to ensure traceability and compliance with project requirements
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in RF engineering, applying new knowledge to enhance your contributions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- Typically entry-level 0-2+ years of experience
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components
- Basic understanding of electrical design tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of electrical design tasks
- Ability to learn, receive instruction and mentorship from more experienced engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with RF design and simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, or CST
- Basic knowledge of RF measurement equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
- Understanding of RF system performance parameters such as gain, noise figure, and linearity
- Experience with PCB design and layout tools such as Altium Designer or OrCAD
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in RF engineering
Compensation
Pay Range: $77,403.00-$106,450.50
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
