About the role
As Technical Quality Assurance Inspector III, you will perform inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the completion of the manufacturing process. You will conduct visual, detailed dimensional and electrical inspections of individual items, sub-assemblies, or final system assemblies.
You will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and certifications. You will document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and communicate inspection findings to relevant stakeholders and management.
Your responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional and electrical inspections of manufacturing goods and assemblies
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, wire cards and specifications to assess conformance
- Certify completed products and assemblies
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records
- Communicate inspection findings to stakeholders and management
- Assist in drafting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support root cause analysis of non-conformances and continuous improvement activities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1-2 inspectors
- Support internal and external audits
Minimum qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant quality assurance or inspection experience
- Progress towards multiple NASA and IPC industry standard certifications
- Completion of basic GD&T training
- Understanding of technical schematics and documents
- Understanding of electrical wiring concepts
- Functional use and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
- Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (ASQ Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Inspector)
- Certifications in IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001
- Working towards Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certifications
- Proficiency with standard inspection tools and equipment
- Developing statistical process control (SPC) techniques and data analysis
- Basic familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and equipment
- Experience with quality management software and databases, such as SAP QM
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment and techniques, including oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Experience in regulated aerospace or defense industry with understanding of AS9100
- Proven ability to provide technical guidance to Level I and II inspectors
Compensation
Pay range: $27.34 to $37.61 per hour. Actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
