About the Role
You will perform expert-level inspections of manufacturing goods during and at completion of the manufacturing process. This includes conducting highly detailed visual, dimensional and electrical inspections of individual items, sub-assemblies or final system assemblies. You will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards and certifications.
Your responsibilities include:
- Certify completed products and conduct detailed dimensional and electrical inspections
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records
- Communicate inspection findings to stakeholders and management
- Assist in drafting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Lead or closely collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products
- Utilize Microsoft Office suite tools for documentation and reporting
- Collaborate in continuous improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams
- Maintain proficiency in industry standards and certifications, including NASA and IPC
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to Level I-III inspectors
- Lead quality assurance projects and initiatives
- Support internal and external audits
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Completed NASA and IPC industry standard certifications
- Completion of advanced GD&T training
- Advanced understanding of technical schematics and documents
- Advanced understanding of electrical wiring standards and specifications
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs
Preferred Qualifications
- Current, verifiable NAS410 Level I or II certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Proof of documented on-the-job training (OJT) and formal classroom hours matching NAS410 requirements
- Prior experience in Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) testing
- Advanced certifications in weld inspection or other NDT methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector)
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
- Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or Certified Quality Inspector)
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with advanced inspection tools and equipment, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), laser scanners and optical comparators
- Proficiency with advanced statistical process control (SPC) techniques and quality data analysis
- Experience with quality management software and databases, such as SAP QM or similar
- Quality inspection experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or defense, with thorough understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations including AS9100
- Proven ability to lead and mentor Level I-III inspectors and provide technical guidance
- Experience leading quality assurance projects and initiatives
Compensation
Pay Range: $31.90 - $43.87 per hour
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
