CMM Programmer (Valves) - 2nd Shift
SpaceX is hiring a CMM Programmer to perform precision inspection and measurement of mechanical parts, components, and assemblies for propulsion systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials, including first article, in-process, and final inspection
- Understand and apply GD&T requirements as specified on engineering drawings and notes
- Identify and report interpretation issues in dimension specifications and requirements
- Select and use standard gauges and inspection tools with appropriate accuracy for tolerances
- Program, maintain, and organize CMM programs using PC-DMIS software on Articulating Romer ARM and DCC CMM equipment
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure all programs are current, saved, and readily available
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve precision inspection processes and specifications
- Assist engineering with developing part inspection plans
- Identify GD&T design issues and errors that create ambiguity in manufacturing and inspection
- Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability
- Support engineering and management in researching and procuring inspection tools and CMM equipment
- Create and deliver training to help team members exceed job expectations
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of CMM programming experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- CMM experience including multi-sensing CMMs (vision, laser, touch probe)
- Fanuc or Siemens CNC control experience for on-machine probing
- Experience designing and developing quality gauging solutions
- ISO 9001 knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret drawing criteria, GD&T, notes and tolerances
- CMM or Romer Arm setup experience
- Knowledge of tool selection and application
Additional Requirements
- Must work 2nd shift: Monday-Friday 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
- Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to lift, stand, climb, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, stretch, and carry
- Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools; exposure to distracting noise levels
- Must be willing to work in cleanroom environment wearing PPE (bunny suit, hair net, beard net, etc.)
Compensation
- CMM Programmer Level 1: $33.00 - $39.00/hour
- CMM Programmer Level 2: $37.00 - $44.00/hour
- CMM Programmer Level 3: $41.00 - $50.00/hour
Actual level and base salary determined case-by-case based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
