About the Role
You will operate, setup, and program CNC machines to manufacture flight hardware for the Raptor propulsion program, meeting aggressive production rate targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate, setup, and program CNC machines on state-of-the-art equipment (DMG, Nigata, Heller)
- Perform precision machine setups and manage cutting tool inventory and measurement
- Prioritize daily work to maximize machine uptime across your assigned shop area
- Perform on and off-machine deburring to maintain consistent part quality
- Operate clean line equipment, CMM, and borescope to verify hardware meets print requirements
- Use calibrated devices to ensure conformance of machined parts
- Perform weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on CNC machines
- Maintain shop conditions including chip bins, oils, greases, and 5S organization
- Document work instructions and test plans for traceability
- Suggest improvements in machining, fixturing, and tooling approaches
- Support teammates and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 8+ years CNC machining experience
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years operating CNC machinery
- Proficiency in high-efficiency milling and turning
- Knowledge of shop math, tooling technology, and blueprint reading
- Experience measuring parts and strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read accurately, write clearly, and perform basic arithmetic
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
- Willingness to cross-train and learn all shop equipment
Physical Requirements
- Lift 35 lbs unassisted
- Stand and kneel for 8-hour shifts
- Perform repetitive hand movements and use hand tools and controls
- Work in environments with distracting noise levels
Compensation
Level 4: $36.00 to $43.00 per hour
Level 5: $41.00 to $51.00 per hour
Actual level and salary determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
