Integration & Test Engineer (Falcon)

Process Falcon 9 flight vehicles in the pursuit of rapid and reliable rocket reuse, integration and launch.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procedures for checkout and integration of new and flight-proven rockets and ground support equipment
• Lead hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of vehicle assemblies
• Lead critical on-site operations while collaborating with engineering staff to resolve test anomalies and ensure flight readiness
• Direct highly skilled field technicians on daily operations
• Design and develop tools and hardware to enable vehicle assembly and system testing
• Identify high-risk processes and implement improvements for operational excellence
• Lead root cause and corrective action investigations for quality and reliability issues
• Develop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned
• Manage work orders and drive non-conformances into actionable improvements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 1+ years hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical and/or fluid systems in design, manufacturing, or implementation phases (class projects and internship experience qualifies)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Advanced degree in mechatronics, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or computer engineering
• 3+ years professional experience designing, building, integrating, and testing complex multi-disciplinary systems
• Experience writing test plans and test procedures
• Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software systems
• Hands-on experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft integration, composite structure design or testing, test operations with gases or fluids, or data acquisition and field measurements
• Professional experience testing and operating with hazardous systems (high pressure, high energy, hazardous gases or fluids)
• Professional experience with large assembly moves such as crane operations
• Flight hardware avionics experience
• Clear communication with diverse teams
• Ability to work in fast-paced, autonomously driven environment
• Ability to learn, lead others, and maintain productivity

Additional Requirements

• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base
• Physical capability to stand, lift and carry moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 35 lbs)
• Mental fitness to work in high-concentration, high-stress environment with prolonged mental concentration
• Flexibility on shift work
• Occasional travel may be required

Compensation

Pay Range: Level 1: $100,000 to $130,000 per year. Level 2: $115,000 to $160,000 per year. Actual level and base salary determined on case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is one part of total rewards package. Eligible for long-term incentives in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
