About the role
Starshield is a satellite development program focused on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads for national security. The Components Test Team develops test solutions for high-volume communication satellites and ground stations.
What you will do
- Provide technical leadership with focus on continuous improvement
- Manage projects and delegate responsibilities to complete work on schedule
- Determine team goals and implement effective testing solutions
- Develop and enforce processes to standardize test system deliverable expectations
- Develop highly reliable autonomous test systems
- Own all aspects of test development: requirements evaluation, system development, subsystem testing, and factory integration
- Create modular, reusable software in Python to automate manufacturing processes and tests
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to validate flight hardware
- Maintain tests that support rapid design iteration of flight hardware and software
- Develop test infrastructure that enables scaling to large numbers of devices under test
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
- 2+ years of professional design and/or hands-on manufacturing experience with aerospace vehicles/payloads, automotive, aircraft, or marine assemblies
- 1+ years of prior leadership experience leading teams, projects, or people

Working conditions
- Must be available to work extended hours as needed
- An active clearance may provide opportunity to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
Compensation
Base salary: $165,000.00 to $230,000.00 annually, based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Those with an active clearance receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
US person requirement
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C.
