Starlink designs, builds, launches and operates the world's largest satellite constellation to deliver global internet. You will own the electrical design of customer-facing products (Starlink dishes, user terminals, Wi-Fi routers) and advanced gateways deployed worldwide.
Your customers include teachers in remote Amazon regions, researchers in Antarctica, emergency responders, commercial airlines, cruise lines, and rural residential users. You will design, implement and verify complete electrical systems for these products, ensuring they withstand harsh environments while maintaining reliable global communication.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test highly reliable electronics for satellite communication
- Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing and production test teams
- Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing and test
- Support hardware through production, satellite integration and flight operations
- Work closely with mechanical, thermal, software, test engineering, supply chain and silicon design teams to deliver integrated, high-performance hardware
- Build physical and digital tools to analyze data collected on orbit and in the lab, driving continual design improvements
- Challenge assumptions and find simple solutions to complex problems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- 8+ years professional experience designing circuits, electronic products or hardware
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar field
- 10+ years professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products
- 10+ years electronic product experience from concept through production, with emphasis on full lifecycle development of new hardware (not incremental updates)
- 10+ years designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz Serdes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, ADC/DAC converters and power supply components
- 10+ years testing, troubleshooting and debugging electronics
- Strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++)
- Demonstrated ability to work in highly cross-functional roles
