Propulsion Technician (Raptor Printer Automation & Controls)
You will drive the build and development of in-house additive manufacturing printers for Raptor engine production. You'll collaborate with design and build engineers, automation and controls engineers, and toolmakers to fabricate, assemble, and commission 3D printers and their subsystems. This role requires flexibility, autonomy, hands-on problem-solving, and a passion for advancing cutting-edge manufacturing technology.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1 or more years of electrical or automation and controls experience in manufacturing or production environments
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 3 or more years in a professional manufacturing, production, or industrial role with emphasis on electrical systems, controls, or automation
- Electrical wiring, panel building, cable management, and termination of industrial components (motors, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, safety circuits)
- Industrial automation systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting, I/O, and basic controls logic
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
- Commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and automation systems on production equipment
- Laser tracker, articulated arm, coordinate measuring machine, and bench inspection equipment
- Adapt to a mix of repetitive production tasks and innovative process development
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels
- Solve complex problems with minimal supervision on tight schedules
- Read mechanical and engineering drawings and interpret tolerances including GD&T
- Lifting, rigging, and preparing for heavy crane operations of complicated parts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork
Additional Requirements
- Available for 1st shift (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Ability to work all required shift hours, including overtime and weekends when needed
- Work at elevated heights occasionally (scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts)
- Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 30 lbs. unassisted
Compensation
- Propulsion Technician Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
- Propulsion Technician Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50 per hour
- Propulsion Technician Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00 per hour
Actual level and base salary determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
