Quality Inspector (Valves) - 2nd Shift

You will perform in-process and end-of-line inspections on flight hardware, verifying that all key performance and design characteristics meet or exceed requirements during manufacturing. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge rocket technology as part of the Quality Inspection team at the SpaceX valve factory, supporting the Dragon and Falcon programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed in-process inspections on flight hardware using drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to design requirements
  • Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes
  • Communicate and help resolve quality-related issues across the site and other SpaceX locations
  • Process non-conforming product and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance as a technical resource
  • Evaluate manufacturing compliance to NASA, customer, and internal specifications to meet launch and mission requirements
  • Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2 or more years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with aerospace standards
  • Experience using calibrated inspection tools
  • Experience with assembling and testing manufactured hardware
  • Experience with quality assurance principles, methods, and processes
  • Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Intermediate level skill with Windows operating systems
  • Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)

Additional Requirements

  • Must work 2nd shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stoop, bend, crawl, and work in tight spaces
  • Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing PPE including bunny suit, hair net, and beard net

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range by level:

  • Quality Inspector Level 1: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour
  • Quality Inspector Level 2: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
  • Quality Inspector Level 3: $35.00 to $44.00 per hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
